~~The Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 18.7-mile Rails-to-Trails, multi-use trail system in Greenville County, South Carolina that largely follows the bed of a former railroad that had been nicknamed after the indigenous swamp rabbit from Travelers Rest to downtown Greenville.
~~Paris Mountain is located just outside Greenville ,SC and offers 9 different hiking, biking, and running trails.
~~Furman University and its surrounding areas offer runners and walkers a variety of on-campus and off-campus running routes. The 5K course wraps around the campus lake and some of Furman University's beautiful buildings. Furman is also a starting and ending location for the Greenvalley 8K & 10K routes.
The Green Valley routes are a part of the Greenville Track Club's Racing series and begin at Furman University and wind around campus (8K) and up to Travelers Rest (10K). Runners can either use these routes for training or run in the February Green Valley Road Race.
~~This is the most popular walking and cycling trail in Spartanburg County, and one of the finest rails-to-trail projects to be found anywhere. Completed and opened in 2004, the Mary Black Rail Trail is a 1.8-mile long (on-way) trail just south of downtown.
~~A sprawling park and greenspace, Duncan Park includes a 3 +/- mile running/walking trail that combines rubber, concrete, and dirt paths around the circumfrance of the park. Looking to cross train, Duncan park also has nine miles of wooded mountain biking trails.
~~This State Park has many miles of soft surface trails which are great for long runs. There are a variety of trails including wide horse trails and narrow, single-track hiking and mountain bike trails.
~~The Spartanburg Area Conservency's (SPACE) first project was the Cottonwood Trail Preserve, currently a 115-acre urban preserve and trail system. More than 5 miles of trails offer runners and naturalists a break from city traffic.
~~ Constructed by the Palmetto Conservation Foundation this 350 mile mountain-to-sea trail crosses many parts of Spartanburg and its surrounding areas. Check out the local trail systems at USC Upstate's Campus, Camp Croft, Hub City Connector, and the School for the Deaf and Blind.
~~Walk or run along this one-mile gravel loop trail that meanders through The Glendale Mille Preserve and along Lawson's Creek. Located minutes outside Spartanburg, this trail has a little bit of everything. While there check out the 1/2 connector to the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School.
~~The greenway includes a basketball court, a 1.1-mile trail, two playgrounds, and a picnic shelter
